Call for Candidates
Dear NNEST IS voting members,
NOTE: You are a voting member of the Interest Section if the NNEST IS is your primary IS.
This following is a Call for Candidates for the NNEST Interest Section. We will have online elections from February 15th thorough March 15th so that new officers can be installed at the Denver Convention.
We need to elect three officers:
- a Chair Elect
- two Members at Large

If you are interested in being a nominee for the elected positions or would like to be considered for the appointed positions, please send an Expression of Interest (of one to two pages in length) and your CV to bbrady@american.edu
Deadline for submissions for either elected or appointed positions is 1/31/2009 and if your submission could be received prior to 1/15 it would be greatly appreciated.
Help us help each other. Get involved and you grow professionally while we grow as a community!

Dr. Nuzhat Amin, assistant professor in the School of Education at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, died May 21, 2007 from complications associated with breast cancer.She was 60 years old.

TESOL Quarterly 2006 Special Topic Issue: Race and TESOL
In September 2006, TESOL Quarterly published a special topic issue on Race and TESOL, edited by Ryuko Kubota and Angel Lin. The issue includes articles by Suhanthie Motha, Lisa Taylor, Kay Hammond, Ena Lee, and Andrea Simon-Maeda, with a Forum piece by Ruth Spack, a reply to Jennifer Jenkins's "Implementing an International Approach to English Pronunciation" from Mitsuo Kubota, and Brief Reports and Summaries from Khadar Bashir-Ali, and Sarah Rich and Salah Troudi. The issue has been mailed to subscribers and will be available soon on IngentaConnect. |

The Publications Committee invites book proposals (single-authored or edited volumes) from classroom teachers, teacher educators, researchers, and other specialists on all topics related to nonnative English speakers in TESOL, e.g., training, classroom practices, professional development, sociopolitical and political issues.
